Thoughts like clouds exercise

Here is a simple and practical exercise to do at any time of the day

Take 5 minutes for yourself, close your eyes and bring your attention to your breath.

Imagine a clear blue sky.

After a while, your mind may be captured by a thought, whatever it is gently place it on a cloud and watch it flow and be carried away by the wind.

Then, another thought will come, you will also put this thought on a cloud. Observe this thought above the cloud, without judging it but welcoming it in the sky... away from you... as it flows away and disappears.

Clouds, like thoughts, are fleeting and in the background there is a clear, blue sky.

Observe the clouds with detachment.

Turn your attention to the sky behind the clouds and become yourself that clear sky where the clouds are floating.
